These are the first recordings of Bicycle Ride, a project I began primarily to see if I could write and record an album myself playing all instruments. The songs were part of a huge batch of songs I'd written anywhere from 3-6 years ago. The record itself was recorded on weekends in September and October in my hometown of Chatham, MA by an old friend in an industrial park that I had worked in as a teenager. The session had 9 songs total and these are the 6 that came out the best and made the most sense together. Being the first attempt at this, I kept wanting to go back to and make changes and add elements and probably mixed the album 3 times and completely over thought it to the point where I just walked away from it. It's nice now going back and listening and enjoying what's there and not caring too much about the details. Enjoy the melancholic bullshit of me in my mid-20's.
An Unfamiliar Place Called Home is for all my friends i've lived with over the years from Lowell to Mission Hill to Medford, Somerville and Waltham.
Andrea on the E Line is for my bud Andrea who at the time had a really gnarly crash on their bike in the track of the E Line behind Mission Hill. It's still for her and anyone else who's ever had to navigate that mess.
The last track is for my Grandfather who's about to turn 89.
Huge thanks to Dylan Cannon for recording and mixing this and Charles Chaussinand for mastering it!
